Midnight came to us in September looking for food and shelter. After we gained each other’s trust she would come to eat every day. She lived in the deep tangle of natural landscape near by. With some encouragement she started taking her meals inside. This made meal time much easier as she did not have to contend with the local racoon population.
And after some time she started to overnight in the living room on the floor. But she seemed somehow unhappy. She would sit by the door a mope at times. When she was let out she would search and search and then return. We did not find out right away what she was after. Then, she found her prize and returned with Grey Baby in tow! That means she brought Grey baby with her ack to the house.
Grey Baby was not exactly happy in the house at first and climbed out the mail slot the first day. But that is another story.
The main thing was they were happy together and Midnight was no longer worried about her four month old baby.
Midnight had her kittens two weeks after coming in and has been here almost every night. Now that the kittens are growing she stays out longer and longer each night and leaves earlier and earlier in the evening. She is giving the kittens a chance to get hungry and eat big kitty food.
Midnight has always been a good, caring and protective mother to her babies. She takes care of all 6 kittens and Gray baby as well.
Midnight is a good mama cat.
